Queens rubbish removal company strikes gold in Bayside!
Who would have thought that ripping out an old carpet would lead to a DiMola Bros gold rush? Well, it did… sort of.
I found a tiny gold nugget when my crew and I were ripping apart a bedroom carpet for a residential clean-out job in Queens. After careful examination, I realized this shiny object was a gold-capped tooth — clearly, a molar from the back of someone’s mouth.
Because of this find, I will add “pirate” to my long list of titles, as this gold find surely gives me a pirate status of some sort. But, unlike a pirate, I didn’t buy anything with this gold. This tooth went straight to my scrap gold collection.
I have no idea who the tooth belonged to because the estate attorney on the job had a full set of teeth and the owners of the house were deceased. But, with the cost of gold currently at $1,173, I doubt it was purchased recently. I thought about putting it under my pillow for good luck, or maybe for a few hundred bucks from the tooth fairy. But I quickly changed my mind — I don’t want to be haunted by the man who once wore this gold-plated tooth.
