DiMola scores big in basement trash removal job, finds 1945 letter from soldier
I found this letter in a basement trash removal job Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. In 1945, Lt. Isie Corito sent it to his mother, Esther Corito. At least, I would like to think it’s his mother. It could be his wife, I suppose.
From the stamps, you can see that an Army examiner approved the letter on April 26, 1945. When I found it, it contained dozens of postage stamps with images of Adolf Hitler.
