Vintage umpire mask found in basement clean-out

Brooklyn, NY Basement Clean Out

Umpire mask from basement clean-out job in New York

This trash find was a home run.

I found this old umpire mask hanging by a single nail on the wall in a basement I was cleaning out a few years ago.

I saved it for a few reasons. First, it’s really cool. But more importantly, it has quarter-inch steel bars, leather straps and is extremely well made. It was made in the United States, according to its label, and feels so sturdy that a car could run over it and it still wouldn’t break.

I’m no ump, but saving this piece of trash was a good call.
