I’ve talked before about how much I love funny sayings and bright, crazy colors and fonts in old advertisements and labels. Well, it’s no different with the packaging of this vintage shower head.

This is just a box — the shower head is no longer with us — but it’s a really cool box. It shows an animated image of a woman and man showering, and based on the box’s color and style of the writing, I’d say this was produced in the 1940s. The ridiculousness of the image on the box just grabs me. It looks like this shower head will seriously change your life. It makes showering looks like so much fun, like all your cares will just go away — but only with this shower head.

I found it in a bathroom interior demolition job in Queens. It was neatly resting underneath the bathroom sink. Right in front of me, the homeowner took the new shower head out of the box and replaced the existing rusty one. The old shower head went into the new box, then promptly in the garbage. I, of course, went running after it and saved the box. I left the rusty shower head to its fellow garbage.

You never know what you’re going to find when you rip out a full bathroom in Queens.
