ABOUT DIMOLA BROS

“I love garbage. I might be the owner, but I’m going to go on the jobs with the guys because I love this stuff. It’s interesting.”

Welcome to Trash Treasures of New York City, your go-to site for the best trash talk in New York City. I’m Nick DiMola, the founder and president of DiMola Bros garbage removal company. I’ve been running this business for more than three decades, serving businesses, contractors, organizations and residential customers in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx.

My job is to get rid of trash, but sometimes it’s not that easy for me. Over the last 30 years, rubbish removal has evolved from being just a job to an exciting hobby. Now, preserving interesting items I find on the job is my passion. I’ve collected thousands of items, like porcelain signs, old radios, photographs, coins, jewelry and old letters.

So, why did I create this blog? I believe in getting down to business and getting any job finished as quickly as possible, but I know how to have fun, too. On this blog, I will keep you up to date with the latest garbage news, company specials, cool slideshows, trash trivia and jokes. Every day, you can look at my “Coolest Find of the Day” to see what people have left behind. It’s a dirty job, but somebody’s got to talk trash.

  1. I am a 3rd generation ridgewood resident. Went to the Ridgewood as a kid. Live shows to the 50’s but not often by them. The Madison down the street – same deal but long gone. My H.S. graduation was at the Madison. Saw my first screening of Gone with the Wind in the Ridgewood around 1959 or 60.

Have been following your news co0verage for a while. You are a hoot!

  2. Nick, thank you so much for forwarding this great article. It captures you and your passion for what you do so well. My Dad said many times over the last few years that he feels sorry for me and my sister when the time comes to clean out his apartment. He would be very relieved to know that we hired the best person (and his team) for the job. I was happy that some of the furniture and other items went into your van, to be repurposed.

BTW, my sister took the DiMola Bros. pad so I get to keep the magnet!!

    Regards,
    Christa
